Submission Checklist

·         All entries should be formatted with 1.5” or 2” margins all around, in Times Roman 12, line spacing at 2.

·         Please mail your contributor agreement back to Sage Publications as soon as possible. If you have not yet received your contract, please write to Sage Publications at vince.burns@sagepub.com

·         Your entry should be in Word (for Windows) or other standard word processing software.

·         Please proofread your entry.

·         The entry should correspond, approximately, to its suggested length.

·         Always keep electronic and hardcopy copies of your entry. Also keep copies of your source material in case questions arise during the editing process.

·         Your Word file should consist of the following: contact information (your full name, address, phone and fax numbers, and email address), headword (entry title), word count, the entry itself, your name (again) and affiliation, a list of cross-references (see also’s), and the “further readings and references” list (alphabetically arranged).

·         Submit the first draft of your entry or entries via email by 15 December 2002 to your deputy editor (see the home page of the website for their names and email addresses) AND to Jeff Stepnisky at this email address: jstepnisky@socy.umd.edu

·         You will receive feedback on your draft from both George Ritzer (via Jeff) and the deputy editor.

·         Once you have made the recommended changes, please submit your revised entry to this website by following these instructions:

Click on “Access Tobin”

Use the User Name and Password we sent you to access the headword list

Click on “View Headword List”

Find your entry word in the list: click on your entry

Click on “upload text”

Fill out the contact information

Enter your file name (you may browse for it on your hard drive)

Click on “Press ONCE to upload your file”

·         The deadline for the rough draft of your entry is December 15, 2002.
